Fecundity at Kellys Swamp

After going for an enjoyable bike ride along the path on the North Shore of Lake Burley Griffin we went to see what was occurring at Kellys Swamp.  Fluffballs is what was happening in front of Ardeahide.

Our awareness of this began when Frances noticed an aggregation of Pacific Black Ducklings.
This adult - I suspect a male - had 9 ducklings.  This was trumped by noticing another adult (again I suspect a male) with 10 ducklings.

Casting my eyes closer to Bittern hide a pair of Black Swans appeared with 6 cygnets.  This seemed like a large brood but HANZAB says the average size of brood is about 5.  I wasn't able to get them all in one shot.
