Towards a better driveway

Following a major storm on Australia Day our driveway became very badly eroded so we, in discussion with our neighbours (who share use of the drive) decided that SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE.   In the past we haven't had much success in finding recommendations for such activities, but on this occasion had two put forward.  In the end we decided that we preferred the proposal by Summiitt Earthmoving to that by Mt Fairy Mowing but the latter were definitely tradesmanlike in their approach.

This is the first of probably 3 posts showing the situation before, during and after the work.  But first here are some more links to the past:

There is a cattle grid under there somewhere!
The drive was rather rocky.  Its OK for the Pajero but a worry for the Jetta (following a suggestion by Frances they are nw known as Beauty and the Beast  - but in reverse order).
The Creek crossing even more so.
The small dog was seriously uninterested in the heavy kit which turned up yesterday afternoon.
I wonder if she will react to the pipes?
Yes indeedy.  There might be rats down those holes.

Going slightly into the next stage of the process when all four pipes were laid they were very popular as a site for trotting back and forth.  So much so that at one stage I thought I might have to insert myself to recapture her!
