Hoskinstown doesn't go bananas

Indeed at $2.37 a 'nana (today's price from Woolworths online - a day later Aldi had $11 per kilo) I doubt if anyone is going bananas. However this small settlement did get a tad excited about their big Chestnut Roast. Here is the car park (aka main street.
This gives a bit of an idea of the crowd.
Of course at such an august event security of personal possessions requires some thought.
I would point out that:
  • that container is a tool box, rather than a tucker box; and
  • Hoskinstown is 202km, rather than 5(or 9) miles. from Gundagai!
There is of course controversy about the poem in question. Not only does this apply to whether it was 5 or 9 miles , but exactly how the pooch offended. Some people certainly reckon "sat" is a euphemism.

On the way to Hoskinstown if you come from (eg) Bungendore you would get this lovely view.
